Lily of the Valley National Historic District
The Ridgway Historic District is a mixed-use (residential, commercial and institutional) historic district of 252 acres which encompasses the traditional core of the downtown and surrounding residential neighborhoods within the Borough of Ridgway, the county seat of Elk County.
Clarion/Little Toby Creek Trail
Just because it is cooler outside doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a long hike. And winter’s snow will soon be falling! Check out this trail to experience watchable wildlife, beautiful scenery, cross-country skiing and all the PA Great Outdoors region has to offer.
Appalachian Arts Studio
Nestled in the Allegheny highlands, Appalachian Arts is a hands-on learning facility where creative energy of all types is nurtured and encouraged. Year-round wood carving and pottery classes, as well as a full old style print shop and dark room facility. There is also a gallery/museum dedicated to the history and growth of the Art of Chainsaw Sculpture as well as all other works created at the studio. Get Creative!
Elk County Council on the Arts
Locals call the council “Eccota”…..we call it a wonderful exposure to the arts! Eccota is dedicated to promoting the cultural enrichment of residents and tourists by expanding the opportunity of public participation in the arts. November and December are jam-packed with classes and much more..
Elk County Historical Society
If you are researching the area, stop in at the historical society and stroll through the Victorian House and Robinson Museum. There are exhibits, a book store and genealogy room. For those of you that are trivia buffs, stop in to find out why Ulysses S. Grant was arrested in Elk County!

You’re hungry. You’re thirsty. The sweet tooth is aching. Don’t worry, Ridgway has a lot to offer to satisfy those needs. If you are in the downtown area, everything is just a short walk away. Lumberjacks Steak House, Pennsy Restaurant , Foxes Pizza are just a few of the restaurants in the downtown area. For fine dining, try The Royal Inn on top of Bootjack Hill, two miles south of town. In need of a sweet fix? Stop by Two Scoops or Dan Smith Candies. Come and sample a taste of Ridgway!

Elk Watching in the Winter
Less crowds, accommodations have lowered their prices, and the beauty of the area make winter elk watching a peaceful outing.
